Calendar HomeForm arcFAQ:FORMS:

What is ARC’s role and  how does it differ from other student organizations?

ARC has a unique role at Taubman where we provide the student perspective for a variety of programming, such as orientation and preview weekends, visiting lecturers, and other administrative programming. We have a direct communication line to the architecture program chair, and Student Affairs. The architecture program includes students from the following degree programs; BS Arch, Pre-Arch, M.Arch, M.U.D., and MS-DMT. Additionally ARC plans social events, such as Final Fridays; thus, we look forward to coming up with creative ways to engage everyone virtually!

What is the internal organization of ARC?

ARC is a voluntary, independent student advisory board composed of two co-coordinators and numerous liaisons known as the ARC Board. Liaisons work in tandem with the co-coordinators to keep them updated on latest student concerns, assist in event planning, help make decisions, etc. For specific role positions and descriptions please see our ‘ARC Board’ tab.

Where are the elections held for positions?

The election for the co-coordinators is held in mid to late March. We want to allow ample time in the on-boarding process for the new coordinators. Whereas the remaining ARC Board positions are filled by continuing members or they are filled in September. Typically, elections for the ARC Board are only held if more than one person requests a position.

Do you have concerns regarding academic planning, courses, or credits?

We recommend contacting Taubman’s Academic Advisors.

Are you sick, injured, or need to take time off from school due to external circumstances?

We recommend immediately contacting Taubman’s Student Affairs. If your illness is COVID-19 related then please consult the Taubman Guide to Fall 2020 for ‘next step’ processes, which may include contacting University Health Services. Both entities will be able to assist you with logistics and provide information for your ‘next steps.’ Additionally please keep on the lookout for Student Affairs’ monthly “Taubman Together” newsletters for helpful links, important dates and University resources!
